Greentech South is hosted by the University of Portsmouth, where research and innovation happens every day. The Greentech South cluster works closely with local higher education institutions, large corporates and public bodies.

Greentech South has secured over £35 million of new investment into the low carbon economy, helped over 100 SMEs to develop innovative new low carbon products and solutions and created over 250 new jobs.

Businesses can access to business coaching and advice, a series of business workshops and our peer to peer growth programme, Profitnet.

Investment Readiness

Our Investment Readiness Platform is designed to give you the support you need to get your business investor-ready and maximise your chances of getting funding.

We’ll help you to develop the right business structures and personnel, demonstrate proof that there’s market demand for your idea and get a sound understanding of what your target investors are looking for.

Businesses can get access to monthly 1-2-1 coaching with a personal investment coach and a series of full day workshops and webinars.

Commercialisation and Investment Readiness programmes are currently run in Brighton only, but businesses from across the UK can take part.

Chloe Hart
Bid Writer and Project Manager

Chloe ensures the successful delivery of bids and projects involving SMEs, supports SMEs in submitting bid proposals and communicates with all stakeholders to provide updates and assistance where required. She’s also responsible for maintaining awareness of suitable bids, challenges and projects that align with Clean Growth UK and Greentech South objectives.

David Hutchinson
Director, Greentech South

David has worked in the Higher Education Sector for over 20 years. His most recent roles have been management positions, with significant responsibility for working with industry on collaborative research and development. He is passionate about clean growth and has experienced the good that can arise from Business and Universities working together.

Keiron Roberts
Research Fellow in Low Carbon Technologies

Keiron is an experienced researcher in a range of low carbon technologies, policies and practices. These are mainly within the area of sustainable infrastructure; focusing primarily on solid waste management, wastewater treatment processes and the adoption of zero-waste and circular economy practices.

Richard Hall
Business Development and Programme Manager

Richard provides SMEs with an array of support from basic info, bid writing, research, network opportunities, corporate challenges, export opportunities, investment – anything that enables them to take their low carbon innovation to the market.
