Community energy for businesses and commercial landlords
Are you a business or commercial landlord interested in reducing energy costs, building resilience, and cutting your carbon footprint?
Ouse Valley Energy Services CIC (OVESCO) and Brighton Energy Co-operative (BEC) have teamed up with the University of Brighton’s Clean Growth UK to run a business-focused community energy event in Newhaven.
Chris Rowland from OVESCO and Matt Brown from BEC will present:
- two case studies showcasing community solar PV for Harveys Brewery and Newhaven Port
- how other local businesses can get involved
- how community energy organisations can provide energy advice and education services for the benefit of the local community.
The presentation will be followed by a Q&A for business and landlords seeking to benefit from community energy.
Lewes based OVESCO funds roof top solar PV for businesses and schools through community share offers, enabling access to clean energy without upfront costs. Brighton based BEC has raised over £5 million for solar PV projects on educational facilities, public organisations and businesses, also offering grants for SMEs. By partnering with these community energy companies, businesses benefit from lower electricity bills, improved sustainability credentials and contribute to local decarbonization efforts, funded from community investment in renewable energy.
Join us at the Marine Workshops in Newhaven on Wednesday 19 March from 4pm to 6pm. Mamoosh Riverside will be providing delicious refreshments.
